Answers to the questions from Maquia's readers

Q: Is there anything you think has changed while you kept working on the "Kame camera" series?

A: I could get to know more about myself and I let people get to know me.

There are no other opportunities like such, to be talking about myself so in depth. Moreover, to be doing this without missing a month! So, I myself also noticed it while talking. It's interesting to see how, despite talking about various themes, I also share my underlying feelings and reveal the deepest parts of my heart at that moment. And I also feel that the readers, especially the fans, can delicately catch that. I feel that this series was a tool which connected me and everyone else.

Q: Is the woman living inside Kamenashi-kun's soul doing well even now?

A: Lately, she probably isn't doing that well /laughs/.

Q: Kamenashi-kun is very observant and caring and attentive of his surroundings.

Who do you think has influenced you the most that made you the Kamenashi-kun you became?

Your parents' education? Baseball? The entertainment world? Johnny-san?

A: It surely is thanks to all the people I got to meet, but I believe it's baseball, perhaps.

Of course, I believe I was unconsciously influenced by Johnny-san, my parents and all the people I have met so far, but... As for the development of my identity as "Kamenashi Kazuya", I think the two biggest things are "Being the third of 4 brothers" and "Baseball".

Both of these taught me the importance of team play, and so I've learnt to put everyone else's needs before my own purposes too.

Q: Can you quickly speak your mind about any kind of topic?

A: YES.

No matter the subject, I will frankly speak my mind at the moment, the words all naturally come out.

Q: If you could welcome any guest on your "Kame camera", who would you like to come?

A: First of all, the player Ichirou!

Improving the body is great, but also talking about the inner sense of beauty or aesthetics.

(T/N: The kanji here were too blurry, so I couldn't read properly, I could just guess one of the words is "longevity", but I'm not sure), it would be interesting to give some guests appearances some times in the future. If I had to talk about the first guest of my dreams, then it would be the player Ichirou. I'd like to dig into Ichirou-san's particular sense of beauty and aesthetics and share it with Maquia's readers. My resolution for the the second time would be a beauty guest, like ... Tanaka Minami-san (T/N: An announcer), maybe?

I want her to tell me too about (T/N: the kanji are unreadable here too @@) the world of beauty /laughs/.

Q: What do you do when, no matter what you do, everything seems not to work nor mesh at all?

A: Rather than struggling, I try to put order to myself and my life.

There are times when, occasionally, also things in my life don't go well, so, when that happens, I don't struggle. However, I think to improve my life. I eat good things for my body, I correct my posture, polish my nails.

Begin improving my own self, then also clean more carefully than usual.

I also polish the smartphone I use everyday and I also brush my teeth with sterilising boiling water.

The things we use everyday seem "okay to be used", but if we look at them more accurately, we can correct them, and I can feel that -doing so-  my mind is corrected too and I can be able to get the changes of the situation.

Q: I really love Kamenashi-kun's words choice!

Not only in tv, on the radio, or on magazines but also during concerts, where you deliver those words live, those words really move my heart and warm it.

I would like to know if, inside of Kamenashi-kun, there is something important in the words he says.

A: I'm really happy, but I don't think I am a person of skillful words.

Since I want to be able to convey more complex and delicate feelings, I want to learn more words.

I think my words are probably more like indirect expressions. Even during live concerts, I don't usually say direct words. But that's because I don't want to use words that are just "to bring happiness". That is my own sincerity and love. Smooth talking is good, but that isn't the reality, so, rather than that, I want to convey my true feelings and get connected -with everyone- through them.

And, in order to be able to create a deeper connection, I want to learn more and more words.

Q: Do you keep anything like diaries, memos or notes?

A: Ohno Satoshi-kun recommended me to write a diary and I've tried to challenge with it once, but...

At first, Ohno-kun, who also drew me a portrait of myself, recommended me: "Kame, too, should write a diary", and I tried it once. I had a diary where I also added some polaroids, but it ended after one week. It's no easy feat /laughs/. But, Ohno-kun said "Even one word is okay", so I want to try it again.

Q: To say the truth, -we- call you "Kame-nyan" on twitter and other, what do you think?

A: I can feel your love, it makes me happy.

But, why "Kame-nyan"? /laughs/ I only have one thing I'd like to discuss with my fans: I'd be happy if you could all uniform with the way you call me. Sometimes, when I search myself on SNS, I can't drop in if I only search "Kame". Normally calling me "Kamenashi" is okay too, but I want to read comments with love, so I'd be happy if you could unify it with a name which has love in it /laughs/.

Q: Which part of your body or face do you like?

A: Maybe, skin quality?!

I have a complex with my dance and body, so there really isn't any part I like.

Ah, but, I like my skin's quality. It's springy when you touch it, so it feels good to touch. Especially my arms and neck feel way smoother than girls'! I always touch it myself and it's healing /laughs/.

Q: I like the photos that Kamenashi-kun takes and posts since they are full of feelings and memories. Do you have any rule about the kind of photos you post?

A: I choose photos which match the theme! The chronological order, though, tends to scatter.

Everytime I can take a photo which could match the theme I am talking about, I take it, but... when I can't take any, I usually search among my old pics.

Ten years ago, when I've started this series, I strongly thought: "I want to make camera a hobby", but in the end I couldn't nurture it /laughs/.

Q: When does Kamenashi-kun feel like "Ah~ I'm happy!"

A: During days when the weather is good and when I have a delicious meal!

And also when I get to have some free time.

I am happy when the weather is nice like now or when I eat delicious food. And also, perhaps, when I have some free time. Even if it's a one-hour break during work. I get excited just imagining how I can use that time.
